Women in the Resistance – Conference, 8 March 2024

On Friday 8 March, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., our museum will host the conference ‘Women in the Resistance’, with the projection of the docufilm ‘Pietre Parlanti’ – Six stories of women in the Savonese Resistance, by Mimmo Lombezzi, Anna Traverso and Danilo Marabotto. We look forward to seeing you, on Women’s Day, to share this moment of local collective memory.

The docufilm was edited by Anna Traverso and Mimmo Lombezzi on behalf of ISREC and financed and supported by the De Mari Foundation.
The day will be attended by the councillor for culture Nicoletta Negro, who will bring institutional greetings, Mimmo Lombezzi and Marisa Siccardi, who will talk about the docufilm and the presence of women in the Resistance, which has been duly valorised only in recent decades.
Giovanni Gallotti will provide an overview of the female partisan presence in the city’s toponymy, emphasising the figures who are remembered and what still needs to be done in the future in this field.
Finally, Lia Giribone will read some texts on the female presence in the Savona Resistance.
This is a day of great importance for our city, gold medal winner of the Liberation Struggle, and above all for the reaffirmation from a female point of view of the values of the Liberation Struggle and the Constitution in the year of the fiftieth anniversary of the ‘bombs of Savona’.
